Sherry Jean Anderson

Sherry was a warm and social person who loved getting out and enjoying life, whether that meant taking a walk or spending time at a family gathering.

She especially loved shopping and had a true “shop till you drop” spirit. She enjoyed beautiful clothes and took pride in making sure her boys were dressed well for school. She also had a love for shoes and owned countless pairs, each pair a reflection of her lively personality and unique sense of style.

Later in life, she began a cherished tradition of taking her grandchildren shopping for clothes on their birthdays, creating special “grandma” memories they all enjoyed.
Sherry also loved technology and always seemed to have the latest Apple product. She enjoyed calling her son Jason to share the newest features she had discovered.

One of Sherry’s most treasured qualities was how faithfully she stayed connected with her sons. Jason remembered how she would always call if she had not heard from him for a while after he moved out on his own at 18. She was truly interested in how he was doing – wanting to remain closely involved in his life.

She also loved movies and enjoyed movie outings— whether it was with Fernando, her mother, or her sister—sometimes even seeing films back-to-back while sharing plenty of buttered popcorn.

Sherry will be remembered for her warm heart, vibrant spirit, and the happiness she brought to those around her. She found great joy in life’s simple pleasures and had a special love for riding Harley-Davidson motorcycles.

Sherry truly cherished being with others. Whether sharing laughter, stories, or simply time together, she treasured the moments she spent with family and friends.

She had an adventurous soul and a deep love of travel. Some of her happiest memories were made alongside her partner, Fernando, as they rode their Harleys across the United States and explored many of the country’s beautiful national parks together.

Sherry also gave 34 years of dedicated service to the State of Wisconsin Unemployment Office, a reflection of her commitment, strength, and steady presence, before enjoying her well-earned retirement.

Above all, Sherry was devoted to the people she loved. She was the loving partner of Fernando “Freddie” Talavera; beloved mother of Jason (Andrea), Bryan, and Jordan Anderson, and Diana and Esteban Talavera; proud grandmother of Madyson, Jadyn, and Kendall Anderson; Trenton and Cameron Bond; and Landen Sawejka, Bryanna, Olivia, Robert, Xavier, Sophia, and Arianna Talavera; dear sister of Steven (Cyndee) Hoehn and Sandy (John) Haefert; and fond aunt of Melissa Pagel and Jesse Haefert. She is further survived by other relatives, her extended Talavera family and many dear friends, all of whom will carry her memory in their hearts.

Sherry passed away May 26, 2026, at the age of 68. Her family and friends will gather to celebrate a life well lived at Heritage Funeral Home, 4800 S. 84th Street in Greenfield on Thursday, June 25, 2026, from 4:00 PM until her Celebration of Life Service at 6:00 PM.
