Ronald “Ron” Guckenberger

89, was called home to heaven on Friday, May 16th, 2025. Loving husband of 57 years to the late Joyce (nee Henkel). Ron was predeceased by his wife Joyce and infant son, John. He is survived by his three children, Shirley Guckenberger, Joseph (Janet) Guckenberger and Ron (Dawn) Guckenberger. He is also survived by his grandchildren Daniel, Mark, Catherine, Ronnie and Mallory, and his brother, Edward (Melanie) Guckenberger.

Our father started his 30-year career in the United States Air Force at the tender age of seventeen.  His military service was a highlight of his life.  He was both a Korean and Vietnam Veteran and he attended the Wisconsin Honor Flight in 2016.  Above all though, our Dad was a family man who loved his country.

Please join us to celebrate Ron’s life with visitation on Thursday, May 29th from 4 to 7 pm at Heritage Funeral Homes (9200 S. 27th St. Oak Creek). A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday May 30th, at 10am at St. Louis Catholic Church (13207 Hwy G, Caledonia). Interment will follow mass at West Lawn Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Louis Catholic Church or Zilber Family Hospice.

Our deepest condolences at the passing of our GREAT friend, Ron. He is joining, reuniting with, dear Joyce, his wife. Prayers are with the family as they all live out their earthly lives as both Ron and Joyce taught them how to do. Ron was a great patriot, mentor, friend, and softball pitcher! Timmy and I have/had so many of our fondest memories centered around Ron and family. Snowmobiling through the woods around Wurtsmith AFB, will forever be etched in my mind. Keeping up with Ron was a tremendous joy for a South Florida young man that I was! Snowmobiling with the family was a wonderful first for me! Playing sports with Ron was always something I looked forward to. He was one heck of a pitcher for our team. I spoke with Tim’s wife, June, and she wanted me to mention the joy Timmy always showed when he talked about, with such fondness, of Ron and the entire Guckenberger family. She also sends her condolences. Ron will truly be missed here on earth, but we look forward to seeing him again in the next life.
