Raul Huertas Angeles was called to his Heavenly home on Thursday June 5th, 2025. Raul was born in Mexico City on March 25, 1967, where he spent much of his childhood. His first job was working as a taxicab driver in the heart of Mexico City, where much of his affinity with vehicles began. He moved to the United States in 1990, living in California, Chicago, and eventually his permanent home in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. In Milwaukee, Raul began working in Milwaukee-area Greek restaurants like Omega, Pallas, Mykonos, and many others. In May 1995, during his time working at Family Table, he met the love of his life, Sky. A proud do-it-yourselfer and handyman, Raul began servicing garage doors with Lifetime Doors, which gave him the skills to establish his own garage door business now called Raul’s Overhead Doors, a small business servicing primarily Southeastern Wisconsin, where no job is ever too big or small. Raul was a founding member and eventual President of the Hispanic Entrepreneurs of Wisconsin (HEW), a Mexican Fiesta Golf Tournament Champion, and a Prime Quarter Porterhouse Defeater, for which he still held a redeemable medal. In 2013, he became an immensely proud and grateful Citizen of the United States of America.

Raul had steadfast faith in God, passion for life, and deeply cared for his family and closest friends. A man full of generosity, Raul supported countless people in Milwaukee and elsewhere by helping them through difficult times, providing financial support, or connecting them to opportunities. He loved making others laugh with jokes and pranks, often bringing himself to laughter in those moments. He took great honor in providing for his family and friends, especially through the sharing of his love of food, drink, and scorching peppers. Bringing home old or unusual objects for tinkering, collecting, or simply sharing with his loved ones was a regular occurrence with Raul, and he ensured that learning soccer was a rite of passage for his children. Raul enjoyed learning about anything and everything, exploring the big questions of life, and Menudo Sundays with Carlos.

Loving husband of 27 years to Sky (Gahler) Huertas. Father of Natalie (Stephen) Eick, Mary Huertas, Christian Huertas (Molly Megal), and Gabriel Huertas, as well as Dulce (Justin) Kofoed and Raul Huertas, Junior. Grandfather to Luna and Bowie. Son of Manuel Huertas Sanchez and Zoila “Mama Coco” Socorro Angeles Jimenez. Brother to Manuel Huertas Angeles and Juana Huertas Angeles. Uncle to Gloria Angelica, Rosa Cristina, Priscilla, Juan, Veronica, Alberto, Jhutzi, Dolores, and Margarita. Godfather to Evelyn, Stephanie, Eddie, Diego, Luis, Dante, and Pedro. Preceded in eternal life by mother Zoila Socorro Angeles Jimenez and brother Gustavo Huertas Angeles.

His celebration of life and Mass will be held on Saturday, June 14th, 2025 at St. Hedwig’s Three Holy Women Parish: 1702 N Humboldt Ave, Milwaukee, WI 53202. Visitation is from 9:00am – 11:00am with Mass to immediately follow. An outdoor Native drumming ceremony will follow Mass. A meal will be provided afterwards at the Huertas Home.

In lieu of flowers, the Huertas family requests a cash or digital donation to help Raul’s final medical expenses and to support Sky. The GoFundMe can be found at: https://gofund.me/b993936a .

We encourage visitors to wear their preferred shade of blue to his celebration of life, as that was his favorite color.
