Martin saw a church banner at Calvary (WELS church in Mequon, WI) and decided he had to have one just like it.. He contacted the WLC Art department to see if a student could copy it. I was an art student at WLC in the 1980’s and I remembered that my Grandfather, Henry Metzger Sr. once gave Martin a job at Metzger Machine and Engineering Company, Milwaukee. I volunteered to make the banner. It involved cross stitching church symbols on pannels and connecting the pannels to a larger piece of cloth. I was paid for materials only.
