Lois R. Mayrand

March 30, 1938 – April 30, 2025

It is with deep love and heartfelt sadness that we announce the passing of Lois Mayrand, who left this world peacefully on April 30, 2025 at the age of 87.

Born and raised in West Allis, WI, Lois was the cherished daughter of Raymond and Lucille Guretzke. As an only child, Lois enjoyed spending time with her cousins growing up. She attended church throughout her childhood and was deep-rooted in her catholic faith. In her younger years, she participated in Girl Scouts and volunteered for the American Red Cross.

Lois met the love of her life, Clem Mayrand, who moved to Wisconsin from Escanaba, MI, when she was 18 and got married on July 5th, 1958. Soon after, they started a family of their own. Together they shared 66 years of marriage filled with love, trust, and faith. She was the proud and loving mother of ten children. In her early motherhood, she enjoyed taking car rides in the summer with her husband and children, as well as visiting the campground every weekend. She was devoted to spending time with her family and treasured every moment with her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Each morning, Lois would wake up reciting the birthdates of all of her kin. She had an incredible memory. She spent her free time working on puzzle books and watching polka. She loved to visit the Wisconsin State Fair and enjoyed bingo nights. Lois spent her days surrounded by people she loved dearly, which brought her immense joy.

She lived a wonderful life defined by compassion, integrity, and grace. Lois had a heart for others and always put her family before herself without hesitation. Her warm smile, laughter, consideration and love that she brought to all of our hearts will be remembered forever.

Lois has now joined her parents and daughter Mary in eternal peace. She is survived by her husband, Clem, her nine children: Randy, John (Joy), Richard (Glynda), Janet, Kathy (Pete), Karen, Pamela (Bob), Ronald (Mandy), and Kimberly (Joe), and many grand children and great grand children. She will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the incredible blessing of knowing her.

A visitation will be Wednesday, May 7th, from 10am-12pm at Holy Assumption Catholic Church (7109 W. Orchard St. West Allis) with a Mass of Christian Burial to begin at 12pm.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American lung association.

    “Dear Mayrand Family
You have my deepest sympathy for the loss of your mother. I only had the chance to meet Lois one time as a teenager and her kindness will forever be remembered. May she rest in peace. Susan”
