Kimberly Sue Mickelson

February 28, 1960 – August 23, 2026

Kimberly Sue Mickelson, known to those who loved her simply as Kim, passed away peacefully on August 23, 2026, at the age of 66.

Kim was the daughter of Gerald Mickelson and the late Carol Chapel. She is survived by her son, Jason Mickelson; her brother, Gilbert Mickelson; and, most importantly, her pride and joy, her granddaughters, Kalea and Scarlett.

She was preceded in death by her siblings, Timothy Joseph, Pamela Ann, and Dean Andrew.

Kim was one of those people whose presence could fill a room. She will be remembered for her infectious laugh, her wonderful sense of humor, and her fun-loving personality. She knew how to enjoy the simple things in life and had a way of making memories wherever she went.

Kim was a creative woman who loved her family and friends deeply. She was an avid reader, had a natural passion for numbers, and spent her career working in accounting. And for those who knew Kim well, there was one other thing that deserves a special mention—her love of Diet Coke.

But more than anything, Kim was a mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, and friend. Her granddaughters, Kalea and Scarlett, held a particularly special place in her heart and brought her tremendous joy.

Kim leaves behind more than memories. She leaves behind laughter that will still be heard in stories told about her, moments that will be remembered with a smile, and a love that will continue through the family she cherished.

To those who knew and loved her, Kim will always be a shining star—a bright light whose memory will continue to shine in the hearts of her family and friends.

Her life may have ended, but the laughter, love, and memories she gave to others will remain.

In accordance with Kim’s wishes, no formal services were held.
