Kathleen
Schmidt
Kathy Schmidt entered eternal life having been a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Kathy’s greatest joy in life was her family, and she cherished every moment spent talking, playing, and laughing with them.
She had a particular love of holidays and family gatherings, planning what to serve for special dinners and making her children’s birthday meal requests. One daughter liked the snowman cake. Her son loved the German chocolate cheesecake. Kathy enjoyed reading – both for herself and aloud to the children and grandchildren she adored. She was also known for her love of games, spending countless hours around the table playing cards and board games with her family. An active person, she enjoyed walking and bicycle riding. When the time came to work outside her home, she utilized her skill with numbers working in inventory control at Kohl’s department stores.
Autumn was Kathy’s favorite season, and she delighted in the beauty and crispness of the weather during that time of year.
Kathy is survived by her beloved husband of 60 years, Robert Schmidt; her daughters Jennifer (Jim) Bruders and Christine (Dale) Stefanich; her son Steven Schmidt; and her cherished grandchildren Sean (Deanna) Bruders, Abby Bruders, and Sophia and Sabrina Schmidt. She was also blessed with great-grandchildren, Lily and Jackson Bruders, whose playful ways brought wide smiles to her face and a sparkle to her blue eyes.
She is further survived by her siblings Larry (Ruth) Boehnen, Marlene Nagel, Robert (Terrie) Boehnen, Kenneth (Karen) Boehnen, Mary (Glenn) Lazich, and Eileen (Ken) Dux; in-laws John Craig, Phyllis (Joe) Baillargeon and Marge (Wayne) Soczka; many beloved nieces and nephews; her very good friend Judea; and the wonderful community at Steeple View in Muskego where she lived with Bob for so many years.
Kathy was preceded in death by her parents Paul and Frances Boehnen; her brother Ronald Boehnen; her beloved Uncle Gabe and Aunt Ruby Boehnen; her dear godmother Tracy Boehnen; her brother-in-law Bobby Nagel; and her nieces Lisa Wucherpfennig and Nicole Boehnen. She was also preceded in death by her in-laws Elmer and Mary (Westenmeyer) Schmidt, Raymond Schmidt, George and Donna (Wolf) Schmidt, Eugene Schmidt, Marilyn Craig and Ruth Wasmer; her nephews Timothy Schmidt and David Schmidt; and other extended family members.
Kathy loved God deeply and delighted in worshipping Him. Now, she rejoices in His eternal presence, where she will continue to worship him forever.
