Judy Engeldinger
Judy Engeldinger, age 75, passed away peacefully on October 9, 2026. Born on January 8, 1951, Judy lived a life defined by strength, love, and a spirit that could not be broken. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, proud grandmother and great-grandmother, and a woman whose warmth and positivity left a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Judy shared her life with her beloved husband, Denis Engeldinger, and cherished her daughter, Lisa (Scott) Peterson. She was a proud grandmother to Cody (Lori) Peterson, Samantha (Miles) Czplick, and Benjamin Peterson, and a great-grandmother to Levi, Liam, and Leia. Her family was an important part of her life, and the love she had for them was evident in the many ways she brought people together and made those around her feel special.
Judy was a woman of remarkable strength. She faced life’s greatest challenges with courage and determination, including fighting cancer for more than 10 years and enduring the unimaginable heartbreak of losing two children, Jody and Michael Engeldinger. Through it all, Judy continued to move forward with a positive outlook and a strength that inspired those around her. Her life was a testament to the resilience of the human spirit and the power of choosing hope even when life brought tremendous hardship.
If there was one thing Judy knew how to do, it was bring people together. She was the ultimate party host, and the gatherings she put together were loved by so many. Whether celebrating a special occasion or simply enjoying time with family and friends, Judy had a way of making people feel welcome. She understood that some of life’s best memories are made around a table, surrounded by good food, laughter, and the people who matter most.
Judy enjoyed cooking, baking, crafting, knitting, “Doing Dot,” and traveling. She found joy in both creative pursuits and the opportunity to experience new places. In more recent days, you could often find her enjoying a salty snack alongside a cup of coffee, appreciating the little things that made life enjoyable.
Judy is survived by; her husband, Denis Engeldinger; her daughter, Lisa (Scott) Peterson; her grandchildren, Cody (Lori) Peterson, Samantha (Miles) Czplick, and Benjamin Peterson; and her great-grandchildren, Levi, Liam, and Leia.

Though Judy faced more than her share of heartache, her story will always be remembered for much more than the hardships she endured. She will be remembered for her strength, her positive attitude, her love of entertaining, and the countless memories she created with the people she loved. Her legacy lives on in her family, in the traditions she helped create, and in the love she gave so freely.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, October 24th at Heritage Funeral Homes (9200 S. 27th St. Oak Creek) from 2-4pm. A funeral service will begin promptly at 4pm. Private burial will take place at Holy Sepulcher Cemetery – Cudahy.
