Robert L. Lewis.  “Bob”

2/3/1950 – 10/9/2026
Bob was raised in Wisconsin Rapids by his parents, Clarence and Florence (nee Wippermann) Lewis. He attended the Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE). After school he worked as the head mechanic at Red Carpet Lanes. From there he was hired away by the American Bowling Congress (ABC) to manage their tournament. For 20 years he oversaw the entire operation which annually welcomed over 80,000 amateur bowlers from around the world. This included building a professional bowling center each year in convention centers across the United States. Afterwards, as an independent contractor, he built insulated concrete form (ICF) houses. Bob could build and/or fix anything.
Jeanne and Bob met 49 years ago on October 22, and were married five years later on that same date.
A lifelong love of trains led to riding the rails all over the country, more than 15 years as President of the Tri-County Model Railroad Club, and a job as manager of the train ride at Southridge Mall. In addition to his close friendships at home, his travels allowed him the opportunity to establish friendships around the country.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Michael, and his nephew, Randy Eberhardt,
Bob is survived by his wife, Jeanne (nee Nolan) Lewis and daughter, Robyn. He is also survived by his nephew, Todd Thiel; niece, Tammy Heberlein, and his sister, Sandi Lewis. In addition, he will be dearly missed by his in-laws, Therese Nolan, Peg Nolan (Ruffin Slater), Annie Simon (Jeff), Thomas Nolan (Suzie), and Arthur Nolan (Susan) as well as nephews, Jeffrey and Daniel Simon and Thomas and John Patrick Nolan.
A celebration of life will take place on Wednesday, October 14, 2026 from 3 pm – 7 pm at HERITAGE FUNERAL HOME (9200 S. 27th St. Oak Creek, WI) with a short memorial service to take place at 6 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Bob’s name to the Wisconsin Humane Society. (https://www.wihumane.org/ways-to-give/memorial-giving/ )
