Joseph Raymond Kiehl

Passed away surrounded by his loving family on Monday, June 30th 2025 at the age of 84. Beloved husband of 59 years to Lynette A. Kiehl (nee Lewandowski). Loving father of Kristin Kiehl and Christopher (Erika) Kiehl. Dear brother of James (the late Ann) Kiehl. Uncle to Kelly (Jeff) Bradford, Heidi (Pat) Elliott and Kevin (Lindsay) Kiehl. Further survived by many other relatives and friends, including his grand dog Winnie. Joe was preceded in death by his parents Joseph B. and Clara Kiehl.

Born in Milwaukee, Joe remained proud of his Wisconsin roots. He attended Marquette University and received degrees from the University of Wisconsin Milwaukee and Cardinal Stritch University, laying the foundation for a lifelong career in education. As a Reading Specialist with the Milwaukee Public Schools, Joe touched the lives of countless students, helping them discover the joy and power of literacy.

In his early years, Joe spent summers working for the Milwaukee County Parks where his appreciation for nature first took root. After retirement he and his wife Lynette moved to Florida, where he enjoyed warm weather, golf games and new friendships.

Joe was known as the life of the party with a laugh that was instantly recognizable and unforgettable. Some of his best memories were made traveling with Lynette, family and friends. Joe’s warmth, humor and spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Joe was a great friend for 50 years and will be missed.. We celebrated our birthdays, played tennis, golfed, traveled, skied, and socialized together for years. Being around Joe and Lynette was always enjoyable and I will always remember our times together.
