Our sweet mom went to be with Jesus Saturday afternoon. We were blessed with five days of reminiscing, loving family time, and goodbyes. We sang her home with her favorite hymns. It was beautiful and bittersweet. Loving wife of the late Melvin Lee Schmidt, Sr. Dear mother of Jenifer Schmidt, Jill(Richard) Rekowski, Penny(Alan) Flater, Deana(Orion) Assante, Ty( Liz) Schmidt, Douglas(Sonsheree) Schmidt. Loving grandma of Craig(Erin) Rekowski, Brandon Rekowski, Amy(Isaac) Klahn, Brittney(Aaron) Will, Allison(Jason) McKelvey, Alexander(Gabriella) Flater, Maxx(Keanna) Schmidt, Abigail(Aaron) Heidersheid, Timothy(Ashley) Flater, Miki(Tony) Martello, Elizabeth(Josh) Nickels, Noah Schmidt, Rebekah Flater, Tori Schmidt, Sarah Flater, and Lucas Schmidt and 26 great grandchildren. Sister-in-law of Monna Van Dale and Paul Schmidt. Preceded in death by her sister Karen Sanderson. Also survived by her cousins, nieces, nephew, other relatives and friends.
A visitation will be held Wednesday, July 2, 2025 from 6-7:30 at Crosspoint Church, 11000 W. Oklahoma Ave. West Allis, WI 53227. A Funeral Service will follow at 7:30PM.
In early years, Dean was an active member of her community. She was a founding member of Floraleers Garden Club and continued her love of flowers throughout her life. She was also a member of the Seasoned Sisters through Spring Creek Church.

What a sweet lady. She is at home with her Savior now. We all must reach reach that final destination some day. She did so with so much love and family around her. One day you will see and be together again. May you all find peace in the memories you hold.
