Janet Miller (née Kress)

Janet Miller (née Kress), born March 28, 1943, in Milwaukee, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family.

A proud Milwaukee native, Janet graduated from Washington High School and went on to attend the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee. She was a medical technologist at Mount Sinai Hospital, and in later years volunteered with Hadassah. She was also a resident of Chai Point, where she continued and built meaningful friendships.

Janet embraced life fully and joyfully. She loved to travel, explore new restaurants, and share wonderful meals with family and friends. A spirited and competitive mah jongg player and bowler, she relished good company and lively games. She had a deep appreciation for music, theater, and the symphony, finding great joy in the arts.

Janet was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Irwin Miller, who passed away in 2015. She is survived by her devoted daughters, Jodi Miller of Chicago and Lori Dicker (David) of Arlington, VA; and by her cherished granddaughter, Molly, who brought immeasurable pride and happiness to her life. She is further survived by her sister, Judy Neuburg; her brother, John Kress; and many extended family members and dear friends.

Janet will be remembered for her warmth, strength, generosity of spirit, and unwavering love for her family. Her memory will forever be a blessing to all who knew her.

We will all miss Janet and her laugh and joy of life and I will forever be thankful to her for introducing me to Dirty Martinis. She had a rough number of years but did not complain and loved winning at our mahjong games no matter how she felt and loved when her granddaughter called even during a hot game of Mahj. She will be greatly missed

So sad to hear Janet passed away. I knew her through my parents Susie and Bob Fono, Hadassah and when she lived at Terova where my parents lived. Such a wonderful soul. May her Memory be for a Blessing. 💕😢

Our deepest condolences on the loss of your beloved mother. Janet and Irv were long time friends of my parents Bill and Colette Goldammer and were always a joy to be around. Janet was such a positive and lovely woman with a great love of family, and always beamed when talking about her daughters and especially her granddaughter. May all the wonderful memories of your mother bring you comfort. In deepest sympathy, the Goldammer family
