Passed away peacefully and joined her husband, Donald on Friday, May 15, 2026 at age 98. Loving mother to Timothy (Doreen) Hermann and Dave (Annie Smith) Hermann. Proud grandma to Carly (fiance Trevor) Hermann and her bonus grandchildren, Jenny (Joe) Framnes, Leanna, Leo, Joey, Kayden, and Scarlett. Also survived by cousins, other loving relatives and friends.
Jackie and her husband, Don built their house in New Berlin in 1958. They became active in many of the city’s organizations. She was on the Board of Directors of the New Berlin Historical Society since 1972 where she served as the President for 13 years and as the Vice President for 15 years prior to that. Jackie and Don spent countless hours, along with other members, working on the complete restoration of the Winton-Sprengel House. Jackie was the docent in that house from 1977, when it first opened, until 2023. In 2023, she was honored by being presented with the prestigious John Ziino Civic Award which is given to citizens for their dedicated service to the betterment of New Berlin.
She was named Citizen of the Year and was honored for serving on the City’s Landmark Commission for over 30 years.
Jackie devoted so much of her time and talents to the growth of the Historical Society and the Historic Park during the 50 years she was active.
Jackie also dedicated her time to being involved in various volunteer positions and groups including the Ladies Aid at Jordan Church, the Sno-Hawks, and the Ladies Auxiliary for the VFW Post 5716.
Visitation will be on Monday, June 1, 2026 from 4 pm – 6 pm at HERITAGE FUNERAL HOME (16880 W National Ave. New Berlin) with a funeral service to follow at 6 pm. Private interment at Highland Memorial Park.
