Dale Gerald
Venne
Dale Venne, 89, of Oak Creek, Wi, passed away on May 2, 2026, surrounded by his family.
He was born on September 12, 1936, in Milwaukee, WI, to the late Carroll and Josephine (nee Wichowski) Venne. Dale was known above all for his unwavering honesty and his unfiltered sense of humor. His nickname ‘Poosie’ fit his personality perfectly and his great grandchildren affectionately called him Papa Poosie.
Fond memories of him cover a wide range of interests and hobbies. As an electrical engineer, he was fascinated with the process of creating stereo speakers that produced impeccable sound and then enjoyed putting those speakers to the test by blasting his music at all times of the day and night. As a master carpenter, he worked magic with wood, designing beautiful furniture and custom gun stocks that showcased his attention to detail and his artistic talent. He loved fishing and hunting, taking annual trips to Crosby and Quetico Provincial Park in Canada and was fortunate to catch a 75# halibut in Alaska just a few years ago. For his 80th birthday, he went hunting in Wyoming and bagged an impressive mule deer. Dale was an avid Green Bay Packers fan and, throughout his life, usually had a dog by his side.
Dale is survived by his siblings, Thomas (Sharyn) Venne and Gloria Tiefke; his children, Jeff (Jill), Pamela Newman (Dave Baker), Timm Venne, and Dana (Emmett) O’Malley; his grandchildren, Leja Venne (Jake Nitka), Chad (Kristina) Venne, Blake (Lorissa) Duval, Aaron (Dillon) Duval, Lauryn and Sydney Venne, Ella and Beckett O’Malley; Chad (Keely) Nichols; his great grandchildren, Mason Kasten, Macy and Jovie Nitka, Bentley, Tucker and Holden Venne, Evalyn and Kinsler Duval, Jason and Dalton Duval, Nellie and Amelia Nichols; his girlfriend Sherry Karrasch; his dear friends Pete Papageorge, Ed and Mary McNutt, Phil Whacker and John Madson. Dale is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
A Celebration of Dale’s Life will be held July 5 from 1:00-5:00 at the Wern Valley Sportsman’s Club, located at S36W29657 Wern Way in Waukesha.
