Gerald “Jerry” Rydeski
Gerald “Jerry” Rydeski passed away on Thursday, May 21, at the age of 90. He will be remembered as a devoted family man, a proud veteran, and someone who found great joy in the simple blessings of life. He cared deeply for those he loved and treasured the time he spent with family and friends, especially at his place on Fence Lake, where many cherished memories were made.
Jerry was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Leah (nee Jelinski), and his brother, Richard and grandson, Joseph. He is lovingly survived by his children, John (Beth), Tom (Stephanie), Jonell (James), and Megan (Jeff); his sister, Janet (Tom); his grandchildren, Nic, Robert (Chris), Margaret (Connor), Patrick (Amanda), Charlie, Madelyn (Adam), Finn, Bridget, Lucas, Logan, and Landon; and his great-grandchild, Emmie.
Jerry is also survived by his special friend Jilloyn Sodemann as well as nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Jerry was a very proud veteran who honorably served his country and spent two years stationed in Germany. He was also a co-owner of Porkie Company of Wisconsin, where his hard work and dedication reflected the same steady commitment, he brought to every part of his life. Above all, Jerry will be remembered for his love of family, his pride in his service, and the peace and happiness he found at Fence Lake.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 27, from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Divine Mercy Parish (800 Marquette Ave., South Milwaukee). A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Wounded Warrior Project are appreciated.
