A visitation will be held on Friday, April 10, 2026 from 9:30am – 10:45am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am at ST. MARY CATHOLIC FAITH COMMUNITY 9520 W. Forest Home Avenue Hales Corners, WI 53130. Burial at Forest Hill Memorial Park Cemetery.
Elizabeth Ann Arend (nee Blommer) passed away unexpectedly at home on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at the age of 75.
Beth was born and raised in the Silver Spring neighborhood of Milwaukee. She attended St. Philip Neri Catholic School and graduated from Messmer High School in 1969. Beth married her high school sweetheart, Tom, in 1972; they started their family and built a home together in South Milwaukee soon after. For many decades Beth explored and enjoyed the outdoors – camping, hiking, swimming, horseback riding with her family and friends all across the state of Wisconsin and in many of the National Parks. She was always a supportive and involved contributor in her children and grandchildren’s schooling and activities, serving in leadership positions on the St. Adalbert Home and School board, working at basketball tournaments, volunteering at Boy Scouting events, and being a family cheerleader at many sporting events. She had a true talent for sewing, and produced countless dresses for prom and homecoming and for entire bridesmaids parties, and also did uniform patch sewing tasks and every other miscellaneous mending task needed by the family. She will be forever remembered as a woman of faith, joy, and love.
Beth was preceded in death by her beloved husband Tom, and parents Carl and Carol (nee Schimmels) Blommer. Survived by children Theresa (Jason) Ramlow, Paul (Julie) Arend, Mark (Emily) Arend, and John (Michelle) Arend, grandchildren Abigail and Benjamin Arend, siblings Bill (Shirley) Blommer and Jim (Jan) Blommer. Further survived by other relatives and friends.
Visitation on Friday, April 10, 9:30-10:45am at St. Mary’s Catholic Faith Community, 9520 W. Forest Home Ave, in Hales Corners. Mass of Christian Burial to follow at 11:00am. Private burial at Forest Hill Memorial Park in Oak Creek. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Wounded Warrior Project are appreciated.
So sorry Terri…keeping you and your family in my prayers.
My heartfelt sympathy to you Paul; and you family. You also remain in my prayers and thoughts. May the Lord Jesus strengthen and keep you all daily, close.
Sincerely
Maria Fischbach
We are so sorry for your loss.
A beautiful obituary for a wonderful woman. She will be missed.
I knew Beth (your beloved mom) through the election activities in South Milwaukee. I just saw her briefly last week Monday at City Hall and was looking forward to working with her next Tuesday.
I am so shocked and saddened to hear of her passing. My prayers join with those of many others who surround you during this pain.
She carried a kind and gentle spirit within her. Helpful. Engaging. Humorous. A genuinely nice person.
May you be comforted and consoled knowing she is Home, in the company of our Lord and all her loved ones.
May your broken hearts be anchored and steadied in peace as you maneuver through.
Love ❤️ Never ❤️ Ends
