    Dear Cousins,

I’m so sad to hear that Billy passed away. Though we had not seen each other for many years, my memories of him are clear, and I will remember him as the lovable guy that he was. I’m not able to attend the funeral, but please know that I am thinking of you all as you celebrate your brother’s life and lay him to rest.

    Sending Love & Prayers,
    Chris & Tom McNabb

Dear Berendt family and friends of Billy,

I was privileged to call Billy my friend!
Meeting him on J dock at McKinley marina in the mid 1990’s and then fishing and sailing ( yes, sailing ) with him was always a great time because of his wonderful personality and fun loving nature.
We would take him on sailboat rides on Kenny’s or Randy’s boat and then do a turn just before the break wall and tell him we had to because we couldn’t make it thru the opening, just to keep him with us for more fun.
He will always be in my and my wife Louisa’s heart as the lovable and loyal friend and skipper of the one and only Bezoar.
We are saddened that we will not be able to with everyone at his memorial, as we must remain in Michigan due to Louisa’s health.
Everyone, take heart and laugh and smile and cry
And appreciate everyday of this precious life!

Dear family and friends of Billy,

Jim and I were very fortunate to meet Bezoar, Billy or “boyfriend’ on J dock. He had such an infectious laugh along with a heart of gold. He will be missed!
    May you rest in peace!

Quick story about Bill! I once asked him how did he communicate with Larry when he was hitting the fish, since he could not tell him on the radio! He said, “Jan, Larry and I always carried a kite, and when we were catching, the kite went up in the air!” 🪁🎣

To the family of Bill aka “Bezour”. We are so sorry to hear of his passing. We had the pleasure of enjoying fish boils and spending time with Billy over the years at McKinley marina. He was always smiling and laughing and was a truly genuine person. He is missed. May he rest in peace.
