Johnson, Walter “Wally”

Passed away on Saturday, January 17, age 76. Husband and partner in crime for just shy of 40 years with Susan (nee Honadel). Loving father of Sarah Graham (Lionel Graham), Stephanie Johnson. Grandfather to Ayana Johnson, Logan Graham and Jeremy Johnson. Great Grandfather to Alijah and Easton. Survived by sister Margaret (John) Kanter and mother-in-law Nancy Honadel. Also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Wally started his career at Appleton Electric in South Milwaukee and worked there his entire career until he retired. Post retirement, he worked for another 10 years as a Process Server for Southeast Wisconsin Process.

Wally enjoyed traveling and spending time with their family and friends. He maintained a full and vibrant social life and enjoyed dinners out with both family and friends.

Wally loved playing the slot machines and especially enjoyed his casino junkets to The Beau Rivage in Biloxi, MS. He also enjoyed watching car races, smoking good cigars and spending time with his beloved rescue dogs over the many years. All of which he named himself (Junior, Otis, Ethel, Wheezer, Petunia, Lulu, Bubbles, Tulip).

Wally had an unmistakable sense of humor and quick wit. He delighted in sharing the latest joke and making others laugh. We will miss the joy that he brought with him wherever he went.

While Wally’s health suffered greatly in the last several years, he always managed to push through the pain to make sure that he took every trip he could and attended every event right up until the very end.

A Celebration of Life will be held March 8, 2026 at the Oak Creek Community Center (8580 S. Howell Ave.) from 3PM-5PM.

Memorials to the American Diabetes Association appreciated.

So sorry for your loss. Wally was a great person, I was privileged to have known him. May his soul rest in peace before the throne of God until rejoined with his body to live eternally in Heaven with the rest of us when Jesus returns again.
