Susan Margaret Dziedzic (Massey)

November 10, 1941 – August 2, 2025

Susan Margaret Dziedzic, age 83, of Oak Creek, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on August 2, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Child of Nello & Margaret Massey, Susan was a woman of deep faith, proud heritage, and unwavering love for others. Susan lived a life full of warmth, tradition, and generosity.

Born the eldest of six, Susan took on the first-born motherly role to always help her parents care for her siblings Neil Massey (Collette), Phil Massey (Kathy), Kathy Massey, Mike Massey, and Barb Wolf (Chuck). Susan also cherished quality times with her nieces and nephews from the Massey family.

Susan met her beloved husband, Jerome “Jerry” Dziedzic as a young teenager, beginning a lifelong love story. After Jerry enlisted in the U.S. Army, he was stationed in Paris, France where Susan visited frequently. Soon thereafter came their son Tony (Staci) Dziedzic. Tony is a proud stepdad to Staci’s children Joshua (Brienne) Eggert and Joseph (Molly) Eggert. Susan cherished her time with the family, and Josh and Brienne’s children, Frankie and Dane. Susan always looked forward to Holiday gatherings with the kids. Some of Susan’s fondest memories were family trips out of the Country, including her most recent trip to Jamaica.

Together, Susan and Jerry built a life grounded in love, resilience, and hospitality, later opening their hearts and home to Jerry’s younger sister, Theresa (Steve) Mess, after the loss of her parents. She was also a proud grandmother to Theresa’s children Derick (Gina) and Danny (Melanie) Devereaux, and great-grandmother to Miles, Jack, Adeline and Avery who continue her legacy of love.

Jerry came from a large and loving family with whom he and Susan shared many valued memories and close bonds. Family gatherings were full of laughter, stories, and connections with his brothers and sisters Bob, Wally, John, Tom, Barb, Nadine, Jim, Kathy, Mike, and Theresa- as well as their spouses and children.

After Jerry’s passing, Susan found love, long-time companionship, and joy with Bo Ivekic, who stood by her side with devotion, loyalty, and care through her later years. They spent many years enjoying travel, trying new restaurants and quality time with family and close friends, and they loved watching old shows and movies together.

Susan was a gifted cook, known for her legendary lasagna, and varieties of homemade pasta, and passatelli- recipes handed down through generations. Her kitchen was the heart of the home, where garlic, basil, and laughter filled the air. Every meal was a celebration of her heritage, and no one ever left her table hungry or unloved. Susan was also a gifted athlete, playing softball and tennis competitively for many years. She was a longtime member of the Italian Community Center and looked forward each year to Festa Italiana. Treasured trips to Italy with her family allowed her to visit the streets of her ancestors- an experience that filled her heart with joy.

Susan worked for many years at Oak Creek High School and coached girls’ tennis, shaping young lives with her encouragement and care. She also enjoyed working at Mitchell Field Airport, working at Brooks Brothers and the Harley store where her warmth and fashion sense were equally appreciated.

Susan will be remembered for her deep faith, boundless love, delicious meals, and the joy she cultivated in the lives of those she touched.

A visitation for Susan will be held on Saturday, August 23rd, from 10am – 12pm at Heritage Funeral Home – Oak Creek (9200 S. 27th St.). A funeral service will begin at 12pm. The immediate family will have a private burial at a later date.

Sending love, thoughts, and strength to all of the family from all of my family. Sue was such a good friend to my Dad once my Mom passed away. Sue was such a joy to be around. I have wonderfully fond memories of her while growing up next door. She was full of life and love. I will always remember her playing in the parents versus the kids sports tournaments growing up. I actually coached youth sports for years, and at the end of every season held a parents vs players game to close out the season. Her legacy will will not be forgotten.
