Ronald
Ahola

Ronald Ahola, aged 85, passed away peacefully on July 30, 2025.

He is survived by his daughter Sheryl Anhalt and son-in-law Mark Anhalt; granddaughter Kristen Anhalt; brother Duane Ahola; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Karen and dear sisters Shirley Paulus and Doris Garz.

Ron was born in Superior, Wisconsin to the late Emil and Ailie Ahola, formerly of Maple, Wisconsin. Ron spent many hours in his youth working on the family farm and later moved to Superior after high school graduation. He served in the National Guard and the U.S. Coast Guard. Over the years he worked various jobs as a lumberjack, lathe operator and a machinist. He loved the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing.

Ron had a quiet and gentle nature and loved to tell jokes. In many ways he embodied the Finnish stoicism passed down through the generations, overcoming difficulties with hard work and without complaint. He had a special affection for blue grass music. Foggy Mountain Breakdown was his favorite tune. He will be dearly missed.
