Robert entered eternal life at age 86 on December 4, 2014. Beloved husband of Ardith L. (nee Johnson) Strommen for 63 years. Loving father of Andrea (Edward) Furlong, David Strommen, and Daniel (Beth) Strommen. Dear grandfather of Alissa Strommen, Linnaea and Gavin Furlong, Katie (Matthew) Augustine, and Lauren, Greg, and Matthew Strommen. Survived by his sister, Myrtle Buttel, and other relatives and many friends. Preceded in death by his brothers, John Strommen and Lawrence Strommen.

Robert “Bob” was born in Milwaukee to Hjalmar and Hildegard Strommen. He graduated from South Division H.S. After serving in the Navy, he earned a degree in mechanical engineering from UW-Madison. He was employed as a sales engineer for Rexnord. Devoted to his family, he participated in scouting and school activities with his children. He was an active lifelong member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church. He belonged to the American Legion, Rexnord Retirees, and Fosselyngen Lodge of Sons of Norway. An avid fisherman and an accomplished woodworker, he also enjoyed camping and traveling.

After living in Greenfield for 50 years, Bob enjoyed his last 9 years living at his beloved Steeple View Senior Community where he enjoyed all the activities and friends. He will be missed.

Visitation at OUR SAVIOR’S LUTHERAN CHURCH at 3022 W. Wisconsin Ave., Milwaukee 53208 from 9-11 AM on Monday, December 8th, with a funeral at 11 AM. Private entombment at Wisconsin Memorial Park. If so desired, memorials to Our Savior’s Lutheran Church appreciated.
