Richard H. Stuhr “Dick” “Grandpa”
Was called home to the Lord on Wednesday, October 8, 2025 at age 90 and joined his beloved wife, Alda.
Dick was born in Milwaukee, WI and resided in the area his entire life. He attended Boys’ Tech for high school and became a lithographer by trade until he retired in 1993.
He was a long-time member of St. John’s Lutheran Church (68th & Forest Home Ave.) and later on Divine Peace, Milwaukee and St. Paul’s, Muskego.
Dick was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved to do taxidermy for his family and friends. He enjoyed doing woodworking in his “Man Cave” in addition to many other hobbies. Along with playing Sheepshead with friends he also loved to travel with his wife.
Dick was a loving husband, father, and grandpa and a friend to many. He will be deeply missed.
Survived by his daughters, Carol (Jim) Komar and Susan (Bud) Proeber. Cherished grandpa of Beth Proeber, Jenny Proeber, Mark (Rachel) Proeber, Laura Proeber, Jason Komar, and Kimberly Komar. Great-grandpa to Carlene, Lennox, Allie, Glen, and Laila. Also survived by other loving relatives and friends.
Preceded in death by his wife, Alda; his sons, Gary Stuhr and Jeff Stuhr; his granddaughter, Katie Komar, and his parents, Henry and Alma Stuhr.
Visitation will take place on Thursday, October 16, 2025 from 3:30 pm – 5:30 pm at HERITAGE FUNERAL HOME (4800 S. 84th St. Greenfield) with a funeral service to follow at 5:30 pm.
Private interment at Highland Memorial Park.
Family would like to extend a special thanks to the caregivers, nurses, and staff at New Perspective – Franklin for their loving and compassionate care of Grandpa for the last five years.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church – the Bridge MKE or Alzheimer’s Association are appreciated.
