Patrick Alan
Keefe

We are heartbroken to announce the sudden passing of our father, Patrick Alan Keefe, who died on December 3, 2023, at the age of 61. Patrick had one of the biggest hearts you could ever imagine and everyone who knew him could feel that in everything he said and did.

Patrick was born in Chicago, Illinois, on June 15, 1962, to Walter and Lucille Keefe. He was the youngest of seven children, which included four brothers and two sisters. Patrick grew up in Carol Stream, Illinois. After high school, he joined the United States Air Force where he learned his lifelong craft as an Aircraft Mechanic. Throughout his time in the Air Force, Patrick was the recipient of numerous medals and honors. While stationed at Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma, he met Kymberlee Dougherty. They married in 1983, and later that year had their first son, Bryan.

In the early 1990s, Patrick and his family moved to Atlanta, Georgia. Their second son, Kevin, was born in Atlanta in 1993. In 2005, Patrick retired from the Air Force. In 2008, he moved to Connecticut, and then Milwaukee to take jobs for the Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA). From there, he had an opportunity to move to Germany for some time while working for DCMA. While living in Germany, he was able to explore different parts of Europe.

In 2012, Patrick returned to the United States and took another job for DCMA in the Milwaukee area. A few years later, he purchased a house in Wauwatosa and further set his roots down in Wisconsin. In his free time, Patrick enjoyed spending time up north fishing, and spending time with his grandchildren. Patrick was able to retire from DCMA in June, 2022. In retirement, Patrick was able to spend more time traveling and visiting his children and grandchildren.

He will be missed by so many.

Patrick was predeceased by his father Walter Sr and mother Lucille, his brother Michael, and his brother-in-law, Dan Jonas. Patrick is survived by his two sons, Bryan and Kevin, their wives Sarah and Rachel, and their children Jaxyn and Ila. Patrick is also survived by his stepmother, Nancy Keefe, sister-in-law Rose, sister Kathleen, brother Walter Jr (Debbie), brother Daniel (Donna), sister Teresa (Joseph), and brother Timothy (Yolanda). Patrick is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

A memorial service will be held in 2024. Details will be announced at a later date.

It goes beyond words to describe the loss of my beloved brother. The tears just magnify the great times we had.

Last August, Pat and I were alone at the lake house.
It was a late evening and Pat was telling me something very deep and personal. Me, being a goof ball, cut him off mid sentence and said “put a cork in it, I’m going inside to make us another drink.” I came back out of the house to see him laughing so hard that he almost fell out of his chair. I began laughing and had a hard time catching my breath. When the laughter subsided, he looked at me and said how this evening reminded him of the early fishing years where he and I would go out in the boat at dusk and ride around the lake for hours telling stories. I never thought our special times together would end so abruptly.

I will always treasure those memories.

I was Patrick’s DCMA Supervisor until he retired. He was an outstanding employee that was well respected by peers as well as management. I would call on him routinely for technical assistance. So sad, Rest In Peace my friend.

I worked with Pat the entire time he was stationed at Dobbins ARB Ga. He was a fine aircraft mechanic and excellent Airman who served our nation with honor . Pat dedicated his life to serving his country and will be greatly missed by his fellow patriots. Rest in peace brother.

We were Patrick’s immediate neighbors across the street. This is a profound loss for us. He was always ready to help us, he inspired us to move here as he was the first neighbor we talked to when we looked at our house. We were fortunate to be his neighbor and deeply saddened by this news.
