Mary Jane Klement

Mary Jane (nee Konkol) Klement, age 89, of Muskego, passed away on Thursday, June 11, 2026. She was born on May 23, 1937 at Amherst, WI to the late Edward Sr. and Josephine (Wanta) Konkol. She grew up on a farm and was the fourth oldest of ten children. On September 12, 1959, Mary Jane married the love of her life, William (Bill) Klement, at St. Mary Mount Carmel Church at Amherst, WI, and together they raised five children. Bill preceded her in death on May 6, 2006.

Mary Jane worked for Velvac Inc. for twenty-five years, retiring in 2001. She enjoyed cooking and baking (her specialty was scrumptious pies), gardening, walking, hiking the Ice Age Trail, reading suspense novels, doing puzzles, listening to 50’s and 60’s music, dancing the polka and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Another of Mary Jane’s passions was sewing! She was an accomplished seamstress, creating or altering her daughter’s and relative’s holy communion dresses, wedding dresses and veils, bridesmaid and flower girl dresses, and patching the knees on countless pairs of her son’s pants. Two granddaughters now possess and cherish her well-used sewing machines.

Mary Jane was an active member of St. Mary Catholic Faith Community of Hales Corners and enjoyed volunteering for and going on day trips with Young at Heart. Loving the excitement of an adventure, Mary Jane had traveled to many states across the US and internationally to England and Italy. She especially enjoyed the annual northern Wisconsin summer vacation, cabin living, pot lucks and campfire marshmallow roasts at Idle Hour Resort on Pike Lake with her husband, children and extended family.

Mary Jane is survived by her children Kathy (Allan) Kehring, Karen (Steve) Marschner, Kelly (Jon) Filicetti, Mary (Tom) Rogers; nine grandchildren Lewis (Eve) Marschner, Allysa Kehring (Michael Stewart), Rebecca (Corban) McCammon, Anna Filicetti, Rose Rogers, William Filicetti, James Filicetti, Glen (Paige) Rogers; and seven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings James Konkol, Edward (Celia) Konkol Jr., Irene Slowinski, Grace (Lawrence) Gibbs, George (Judy) Konkol, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Mary Jane was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Bill and their sons Thomas and infant Joseph; her siblings, Maynard Konkol, Natalie Kaminski, Patricia Polum, Margaret Iwanski; sisters-in-law Arlene Konkol, Elizabeth Klement, Mary Ann Klement, Gertrude Klement, Anne Klement; brothers-in-law Jerome Iwanski, Emil Polum, Theodore Kaminski, John Klement, Francis Klement and Alvin Klement Sr.

A Catholic Funeral Mass will be held at St. Mary Parish of Hales Corners at 9520 W. Forest Home Ave., Hales Corners, WI on Wednesday, July 1, 2026. Visitation will be held at the church from 10 a.m. until time of Mass at 11:30 a.m.

Interment will be at Southern Wisconsin Cemetery, Union Grove at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the charity of your choice appreciated.

The family would like to thank Congregational Home and St. Camillus for their loving care of Mary Jane, and for everyone who visited with her and prayed for her.
