She grew up there with her older sister, Johanna, and her two younger brothers, Johnnie and Wally. She married Leonard Krantz of Pine Bluff, WI on September 18, 1943 and was married for 67 years until Leonard’s death in 2010. Together they lived in Milwaukee, Eau Claire, Brookfield and Appleton during their married years.

Martha was a homemaker for most of her adult life. She enjoyed gardening, quilt making, baking and traveling. She was active many years in the Ladies Societies in the Catholic parishes she belonged to. Her trip to Switzerland in 1978 to experience her heritage was a life’s highlight. Her Swiss ancestry was very important to her and a source of great pride. She loved to listen to a good Swiss yodel and dancing to polka or waltz. To her there was no better treat than a box of Swiss chocolates.
