Born November 29, 1923, to Frederick C. Lindsey and Caroline (Sprowl) in Milwaukee, Wisconsin passed peacefully on April 14, 2018 with her family at her side. While in good health and active in her later years, she was looking forward to several more.

She was a graduate of Bay View High School. She began her career as a secretary and then moved to Waupaca and ran a family business, The Rasmussen Jewelry store.

She returned to Milwaukee and pursued her life-long passion of teaching for the next 40+ years. She earned a B.S. Education, M.S. Spanish, Certificate of ESL and was the President of the Spanish Honor Society.

She was an avid lover of the arts and music, and an accomplished classical violinist and musician who performed with the Waupaca Community Orchestraand the Wilsonaires Chorale group.

She loved to travel and meet new people – and charmed her way in to any party. She was well known for her green thumb and her beautiful gardens.

She will be dearly missed by her Children: David (Betsey) Rasmussen, Janie (Michael) Klueber, Zaim(Sandy) Hito, and daughter in-law Beth Rasmussen. Grandchildren: Wendy, Alyce, Christofer, Jessica, Lindsey; Great grandchildren: Hannah, Hayden, Adrian, Henry, Maggie.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Ruth, son Dennis Rasmussen, fathers of her children: Raymond Rasmussen, Oliver Stiehm, and Mike Hito.

Family and friends may call from 4-7pm on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at the FUNERAL HOME, with a time of sharing at 6:00pm.

In lieu of flowers please consider donating in Lois’ name to National Council on Aging.

Lois’s family would like to thank the staff of Country View Assisted Living for the care, compassion and love that they showed not only to Lois but to all of us.

    Remembering Lois and the family. She was a lovely and patient Spanish teacher at Cudahy High many years ago in the 1980s’! I shall not forget her, ever.
