So sorry to hear about Joey passing. He was a kind person and my brother’s friend for many years. We all grew up in the same neighborhood and remained in contact thru the years. He was always there to help my brother (Jim Welniak) when he needed it.
He will be truly missed. God Bless Joey, Rest in peace.

Today we will be celebrating your life and saying goodbye to a part of the Nelson Family. You were one a kind, certainly no “average Joe!” I have a lifetime of memories – remembering all of the the laughter, great stories, and the fun that you shared with my mom and dad. Your friendship with them so sincere, genuine – a true sense of family! Our hearts are saddened by your sudden passing! But I find comfort in thinking that my mom was waiting for you with a welcoming smile (and probably giving you a hard time). Lots of love!

To the Barber Family, My husband Gary and myself have know Joey for many years. We exchanged receipes many times. We also gave him advise on how to get the best for your money. Many times I had Joey call time warner cable to have his bill lowered. I always told him dont pay what they want. (he always laughed when I told him keep calling) He was a joy to talk with . He will be missed. You have a special angel watching over you all. Gary and Marilyn Markowski

I’ve known you since I was born. Every gathering my brother, Jim Welniak had you were there. It’s hard to imagine that only six months after he died, you passed to heaven too. I imagine that they needed another good pool player up there to show them how it’s done. Although later in life I didn’t see you much, I always knew you were somewhere close to talk to. I’m going to miss you, God Bless you. You will truly be missed. Theresa (Welniak) Keaton

Uncle Joey,
Although I didn’t know you very long, or had too many chances to hangout with you, I will always cherish the conversations we had at family gatherings. You always managed to brighten up the room with your sense of humor, and always had me laughing so hard it hurt! You were truly a genuine person and will be missed dearly! Until we meet again one day buddy! Rest in Peace!
