John was a great person and a wonderful neighbor . He always had a smile or a nice comment to make. He will be missed!!!!

My Unka John always had a smile and a “you may have heard” joke that always lightened the mood. As a small child, which included my teen years, Uncle John would ‘pinch’ my cheek. I never understood why other people did not know how to pinch. Uncle John’s pinches never hurt. They needed to take lessons from him. On September 22, 2016 Uncle John gave me his last pinch. I was so glad and honored to receive it. Love to Aunt Diane, the best smiler ever, and my wonderful cousins and families, Maureen, Bryan and Mike. with love, Maura (Gaskin) Heiss

Aunt Diane, Maureen, Bryan and Mike – Please know how much I loved Uncle John. He always made me feel important. As an adult, I always looked forward to seeing him at family gatherings. He was kind, funny and interested in what was going on in my life. I will really miss him.
