John “Jack” Schiek

Born to Eternal Life September 17, 2025 – just three days after his and Jane’s 62nd wedding anniversary. He was 85 years old. Jack was the beloved husband and best friend of Jane. He was the loving father of Tammy (Donna Addison) Schiek, John (Amy) Schiek, Lynette (Jamie) Schiek-Rauwolf, Scott (Gina) Schiek, and Jennifer (Brett) Olson; the proud grandfather of Laurén & Christian; Nicolas, Natalie, & Noelle; and Carter, Gavin, & Brady; the fond brother of James, Joseph, and Jerry Schiek, and Kathie Ramthun; and the brother-in-law of Margaret and Elaine Schiek. Jack is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many dear friends.

Jack was preceded in death by siblings Mary Ries, Norbert, Greg, and Jeffrey Schiek, sisters-in-law Josephine and Geraldine Schiek, brother-in-law Harvey Ramthun, niece Jennifer Ramthun, and nephew James Graziano.

Jack was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Norbert and Louise (nee Schuh) Schiek; he was the third eldest of nine children. He graduated from Don Bosco High School and earned a bachelor’s degree from Marquette University.

Jack helped at the family resort; Schiek’s Long Lake Resort in Campbellsport, Wisconsin. It was there he met a beautiful young lady by the name of Jane Barry. What began as a chance meeting, led to a love story which lasted over six decades.

After graduating from Marquette University, Jack held various jobs before being hired by Kohler Co. as a Purchasing Manager. He retired from there after 24 years of loyal service. Jack valued hard-work. His strong work ethic and integrity were an example to both his children and grandchildren. After retirement, he became the Meal Program Manager at Muskego City Hall and Stoney Creek. The patrons adored him and this became the perfect outlet for his passion of being of service to others.

Jack was a huge sports fan. You couldn’t find a more enthusiastic or devoted Brewer, Golden Eagle, or Packer fan; especially when they were winning. He particularly enjoyed cheering for his grandchildren at their games.

Family was immensely important to Jack. He was a devoted family man, selflessly putting everyone’s needs before his own. As a father, Jack guided and supported his children with unconditional love. Many considered him a father figure, treating them as one of his own. He was a positive influence in all of their lives and always an eternal optimist. Jack’s grandchildren were his “buddies”. He treasured each and every one of them. His love for Jane was a shining example of how to truly love someone. He adored her until his last breath, and, to Jane, those feelings were mutual.

Jack was the definition of a people person. He loved talking to, meeting, and helping people. Jack had a heart of gold. He would help out in a moment’s notice with whatever anyone wanted or needed. If a favor were asked of him, his response was an immediate “yes” before even knowing what the favor was.

Jack was a man of faith and was always grateful to God for every well-deserved blessing in his life. Jack’s passing leaves a huge void in the lives of every person who was fortunate to know him. Adored by all, he leaves a legacy of humble service and unconditional love.

Jack’s family wishes to thank VITAS Hospice for the kind and compassionate care they provided not only to Jack, but to the entire family over the last six months. They especially wish to thank Michelle and Alicia for their exceptional, loving care – they both truly went above and beyond and treated Jack as if he were a part of their own family.

Jack was a treasure in the world. He was a fantastic husband, father, and friend to many. He was so generous with time volunteering for the benefit of those less fortunate. I’m sure God is thanking Jack for his work on earth.

Our hearts are with you and your family as you grieve this amazing man you were blessed to call, “Dad.” As we read your Dad’s obituary, it was as if we were reading about you. You are his legacy. You have impeccable integrity, a strong faith, work incredibly hard, would do anything for friend in need and someone who loves their family deeply.

Sorry to hear about Jack, but what an amazing life he led.

I’m Anne Schuh’s daughter and Lynda Schuh’s (Herdickliksa) neice. We had a lovely lunch in Dundee last summer, and I enjoyed sitting next to, and speaking with Jack for a quite a long time. He was just so delightful, an afternoon I’ll never forget.

    Love to the entire family.
