Born May 11, 1920. Peacefully passed surrounded by family January 7, 2017, at the age of 96. Caring father to Richard (Kay) Scott, Sandra Sorce, Rodney Scott, Vicki (Peter) Berndsen, and Heather (Paul) Ryan. Loving and active grandpa to Ann, Jodi, Tammy, John, Terry, Alison, Scott, Gerald, Rodney, Michael, Dustin, Christopher, Corey, Cole, Christian and Emily. He adored great-grandchildren Jacob, Luke, Kayla, Tyler, Tanner, Drew, Zachary, Ella, Aubrey, Jayden, Adilyn, Ava, Aiden, Elyse, Lander, Greyson, Lillie, Nora, Piper, and Savannah. Further survived by sister Fern Fellwock and many caring nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by the love of his life, wife Gertrude Helene C. (Scherbarth), parents John C and Winnie M (West) Scott, and dear brother Howard B Scott.
John was a dairy farmer and lifelong resident of Raymond, Wisconsin. He was a 1939 graduate of Union Grove High School where, in May 2016, he celebrated the graduation of both his granddaughter and great granddaughter. In August 2016, he was honored as a Wisconsin Centennial Farmer. He attended UW-Madison Ag short course. John was active in Raymond Community Church, UCC, a Wisconsin Master Farmer, Honorary Director of Racine Agricultural Society, former Raymond School Board member and distinguished volunteer with Farm Bureau, 4-H, Production Credit, Raymond and Franksville Business Associations. One of the “greatest generation,” he enjoyed traveling, politics and woodworking. John hosted many international exchange students as well as Ronald and Nancy Reagan on his family farm. He was an invited attendee to the inauguration of President Ronald Reagan.
Visitation Saturday, January 14, 2017, at RAYMOND COMMUNITY CHURCH, 8217 W. Hwy G,Town of Raymond, 9:30AM until Memorial Service at 11:00AM. Private burial at Oak Grove Cemetery.
