Jean Rude
a glowing example of love outpoured, passed away peacefully on Nov. 11, 2025, surrounded by family. Beloved wife of Jeff for 42 years, proud mother of Eric (Sofia) Rude, Corrie (Christopher) Fischer, exuberant grandmother to Russell & Penelope. Cherished daughter of Gladys & the late Norman Hintz; kind sister to the late Debra Hintz, the late Michael (Thu Van) Hintz, Laurie (Thomas) Kotecki, David (Rachel) Hintz, Tim (Elizabeth) Hintz, and Angela (the late Timothy) Hopkins. Cherished daughter-in-law of the late Robert & Betty Rude, caring sister-in-law to Marilyn (Michael) Gliszinski, and caring aunt to many nieces and nephews, loved by many family & friends, near & far.
Jean earned her B.S. in Mathematics with a Science minor from UW–Milw. in 1979 and her graduate degree in 1986. She taught math and science for 33 yrs in the Oak Creek School District, sharing her love of learning with decades of students. She served in leadership with St. Alphonsus Boy Scout and Girl Scout Troops as her children advanced through the ranks of Scouting. Known for her planning, organization, and perseverance, Jean was someone many relied on. She and Jeff devoted countless hours to St. Alphonsus Parish and the Xaverian Missionaries, helping with festivals, auctions, and beautifying both grounds.
Jean loved family and service, always seeing the good in God’s creation. She was so proud & happy when sharing stories about her grandchildren; their wonder and innocence.
With Jeff at her side, she bravely fought pancreatic cancer for four years, her faith and hope inspiring all who knew her. The family thanks the staff at Froedtert for their care and compassion.
We love you, Jean. May the angels lift you gently to rest in God’s loving arms.

My deepest condolences, Jean was one of neighbors in Franklin hen we built our first house. Later when she volunteered for Catholic Services she was a care giver for my mother as she fought Dementia. I’m positive she is sitting in heaven looking down and wishing all her prayers from heaven. Bless you Jean and prayers for Jeff and your family in this difficult time.
Corrie and Christopher, i am so sorry. I know she meant the world to both of you. Jean’s spirit, compassion and love are examples of how powerfully she lived. I would describe you ,Corrie, in the same light. How proud she must have been of you and your family.

Jean was my caregiver through Catholic Charities and became a very good friend. I have known her for more than 15 years to be a very giving person and worked with her a few years at the Xaverian Missionary festival as a volunteer..
I will miss her but know she is with Manu other friends and family in heaven and waiting for me. I will see her again.
My prayers are with her family through this time as they celebrate her new life in eternity.
Donatella and I send you our deepest condolences. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family in this difficult time, dear Corrie.
The Lord has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted…and to comfort all wh mourn, and to provide fr the wh grieve … to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. Isaiah 61:1-3 and quoted by Jesus in Luke 4:18
