Giuseppe “Pinuzzo” Storniolo
Giuseppe “Pinuzzo” Storniolo passed away on May 19, 2025, surrounded by Margherita, his wife of 62 years, and their three children, Ann, Carl, and Joe.
Giuseppe was born in the picturesque, seaside city of Porticello, Italy on May 31, 1935. He was the youngest of eight children born to Carlo and Anna (Tarantino) Storniolo. Giuseppe’s father passed away when he was only two, his mother and his siblings, Salvatore, Nicolo, Gaetano, Franca, Vincenza, Antonio, and Giovanni, taught him a love of the sea, Italy, and most of all family.
Giuseppe came to the United States in 1961 and met the love of his life Margherita Tagliavia. They were married on May 23, 1962 on the seaside of the Mediterranean in Porticello, Italy and started their lives together in Milwaukee after renewing their vows on December 1, 1962. Giuseppe arrived in the United States with only the shirt on his back, and through years of hard work taught himself English, learned trades, built a loving home, and supported his family in every way. He did indeed live the American dream.
He enjoyed watching sports like soccer, activities like exercising, working on his home, gardening, and walking along the waters of Lake Michigan, a sweet reminder of his life in Porticello.
Giuseppe’s family always came before everything else. He let his children, their spouses, his grandchildren, great-grandchild, and the rest of his family know how happy he was to spend time with them. Sharing stories, family dinners, playing soccer in the backyard, going for bike rides, playing scopa, bocce ball, and even arguing about overcooked (not to him) food on the grill.
He is survived by his wife, Margherita (Tagliavia) Storniolo; children Ann (Jeff) Bzdawka, Carl (Paula) Storniolo, and Joe (Maria) Storniolo; grandchildren Jeffrey Bzdawka, Samantha (Chris) Geisler, Sandro Storniolo, and Mia Storniolo; great-grandchild Ellie Bzdawka as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and extended family.
In lieu of flowers, Giuseppe suffered from shingles-related nerve pain for three long years. Please consider donating to the National Shingles Foundation or in honor of his love of family, please donate to St. Jude.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, May 24th from 9:00am to 10:45am at Divine Mercy Parish, 800 Marquette Avenue, South Milwaukee, Wisconsin 53172. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11 am. Entombment will take place in Holy Sepulcher cemetery in Cudahy, Wisconsin and will immediately follow the Mass. Please go directly to the cemetery after mass as we will not be going in procession.
