Gundersen, Dorothy E.

Passed away peacefully on Wednesday, March 19, 2025 at the age of 101 years old.

Preceded in death by her loving husband, Clifford of 69 years.

Dear mother of Griffith (Sherry) & Grant Gundersen. Proud grandma of Amy (Matt) McVoy, Brett Gundersen, Michael Gundersen and Matthew (Makenzee) Gundersen.  Loving great grandma to Isabella & Willam Sholty and Maximillian McVoy.  Sister of the late Al, Eleanor, Bob, George and Marge.  Further survived by nieces, nephews, and friends.

In her earlier days, Dorothy worked for First Wisconsin National Bank (now US Bank).  Later she worked part-time at Gimbel’s Department Store as a seamstress in the Alteration Dept.  She enjoyed sewing, golf, women’s bowling league, and her ladies card club. 

Cliff and Dorothy traveled to many destinations including Spain, Portugal, Italy, and Hawaii.  Enjoyed winters in Naples, Florida for many years after retirement.

Visitation on Friday, March 28, 2025 from 9:30 am until time of funeral service at 11:00 am. at HERITAGE FUNERAL HOME located at 16880 W. National Ave.  Entombment following service at Forest Home Cemetery.

If desired, memorial contributions in Dorothy’s name may be made to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church or School in West Allis. 

The family wishes to thank the nurses and staff of the Heritage Senior Living in Muskego.  A special thank you to Katie, Nichole, Magda, and Chaplin Daniel of Brighton Hospice for their compassionate care and personal concern delivered to our mother.  She looked forward to seeing and conversing with them at every visit.
