I have fond memories of Doris. She was kind and generous and had the greatest sense of humor. I wish to extend my sincere sympathy to Jon and Sally and Heidi and Megan, as well Steve and Mary, and Jane and Roger. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Doris was the best. When I was little, she was a standard part of the visit to dad’s mysterious office. She had this look in her eyes, like she knew everything that was going on, and then some. During the summers I worked at Miller, she always had some some droll remark ready when I would drop off the mail. It is too bad that her friendship to my dad “tainted” her after he retired. However, it is also a mark of how sincere, honest, and loyal she was.

We loved you so much, Grandma, and we will miss you just as much. We will forever treasure the love that you had for us, the things you taught us, and times that we shared. Your quotes in Megan’s quote book outshine all others and will keep us laughing for years to come!

Our thoughts and prayers are with Doris and her family. How wonderful it was to have her family around her at this time. We will always remember her quick sense of humor. Our love to all, Carter, Suzie, and Mary Jane

I recall sitting on the back porch with Doris whenever she came to visit Steve and Mary in Jacksonville – it was always an occasion when she was here. And I will never forget her great German potato salad!! My condolences to her family.
