Carol “Carrie” Yahn

Carol “Carrie” Yahn went to be with her Lord and Savior on October 15, 2026.  She was born in Milwaukee, WI on August 9th, 1933, to the late Charles and Rose Murray; and wife of the late Gerald “Jerry” Yahn, whom she married in 1955.

Carol was a career RN in Milwaukee and was a God-fearing and fun-loving person.  She lit up the room with her bright smile and unending energy, earning her the nickname of the “Energizer Bunny.”  She loved music, sang in church choir, was an active supporter of her husband’s barbershop chorus, and attended as many concerts and performances as would fit into her calendar.  Carol enjoyed the change of seasons in Wisconsin and also looked forward to her winters in Florida.  She loved to laugh, play all kinds of games, play dominoes, and travel the world with her husband.  Carol always said that she “had it all” and felt very blessed in health, family, and friends.

Carol is survived by her children, Kathleen “Kitty” (Bob) Long, Dave (Jackie) Yahn, Susan (Paul) Krystek, and Richard “Rick” (Mary) Yahn.  She is also survived by her grandchildren, Jennifer Long, Rachel (Sean) Deegan, Sean (Julie) Yahn, Shelby Yahn, Jason (Elsa) Krystek, Bethany Krystek, Nathan “Nate” Yahn, Ryan Yahn, and Natalie (Marco) Quintero. She was preceded in death by her daughter-in-law, Judeen Yahn, and grandsons Christopher and Matthew Long.  Her endearing warmth and bright smile will be missed by the entire family.

Services will be held at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church on Sunday, October 25, 2026, with visitation from 2:30-3:30 p.m., funeral at 3:30 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials to St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 6801 W. Forest Home Ave, Milwaukee, WI 53220 (https://www.stjohnsmilw.org/).
