Bev taught kindergarten at Redeemer Lutheran School in Fond du Lac and then at Trinity Lutheran School in Caledonia for 32 years. She worked alongside her husband when he worked for WELS Evangelism Bookshop. Together, they also enjoyed time away at their cottage in Minnesota. After retirement she was a poll worker during election seasons.
Bev loved doing many crafts including sewing, quilting, cardmaking and scrapbooking. She spent a few years as a Stamping Up! demonstrator. She loved to repurpose almost anything that could be reused. Bev had a lifelong love of reading which she passed on to her children. She kept busy by following the celebrations and activities of her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She always put God and her family first and brought joy to everyone around her.
As she expressed in her scrapbook for their 50th wedding anniversary in 2004:
“Fifty years ago, we would never have believed that our family would be this size, but we are truly thankful for ALL of them. We have been blessed with six wonderful children, in-laws, sixteen grandchildren and three wonderful great-grandchildren. We pray that God will continue to shower His blessings on our family. TO GOD BE THE GLORY!
