Aldona Beatrice Fischer

Aldona Beatrice Fischer was born on May 27, 1930 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and passed away on March 26th, 2025. She was the first born child of Arthur and Beatrice (nee Olson) Opitz. Arthur was born in Elkhart Lake Wisconsin on September 19,1904 and Beatrice was born in Curtis Wisconsin on January 7, 1908.  The little family moved to Sheboygan Wisconsin when Aldona was a toddler and that’s where she spent her formative years with her sister, Diane, and brother Carl, born 1938 and 1941, respectively.

Aldona was educated at Mapledale Elementary and Central High School in Sheboygan. She met her husband, Raymond Fischer (born December 23, 1927), at the age of eighteen. They married in 1949 and together had three children, Sherris Fischer (Matthew) Corby, Dennis Fischer, and Raymond (Laura) Fischer II.

While raising their children, in 1950-60s Aldona completed LaSalle University’s bookkeeping correspondence courses and worked alongside her husband within their entrepreneurial, hotel and real estate ventures.  They moved to Franklin Wisconsin in 1964 to be more centrally located to their businesses.  She became Vice President/Treasurer of R & A Investments and was bookkeeper for all the couple’s business activities up until her death at the age of 94 on March 26, 2025.

In addition to her business acumen, she was an accomplished landscape and folk-art painter. Aldona also loved to read and travel and was an active participant/leader in book and ladies club organizations.  She was an avid home sports team fan, rarely missing Packers, Bucks or Brewer games on TV.

She adored being surrounded by her family and was survived by her three precious children mentioned above; six dear grandchildren: Jennifer (Brett) Fischer-Elver, David (Brittany Lamp) Fischer, Megan Fischer Corby, Allison Corby (Ellerton) Warhus, Bryan Fischer, Daniel Fischer; and eight darling great-grandchildren: Danica Hulbert, Nora Walters, Alexandra Walters, Kaylee Fischer, Karlee Fischer, Devin Fischer, Finley Warhus, Fiona Warhus.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her much loved husband, Raymond O. Fischer who passed in 2016; and admired sister, Diane Opitz Markgraf who passed in 2017.

A public visitation will be held Friday, April 11th, 2025 at Heritage Funeral Home (Oak Creek, 9200 South 27th St, Oak Creek, WI 53154) from 11AM until the time of service at 1:30pm. Refreshments will be served during visitation.  A private family celebration and interment will occur at Arlington Park Cemetery Chapel, (4141 S. 27th St., Greenfield, Wisconsin 53221) immediately following the funeral service.
