Town of Raymond, died peacefully surrounded by family on April 14, 2016 age 82 years.. He was born in Glendale, WI to Theodore and Lorraine (Eschrich) Osmundsen on February 9, 1934. He helped run the family greenhouse in Sturtevant, worked for Franklin and Lannon Stone Products, Valley Black Top and Sherwin Industries where he retired after 55 years as a member of the Operating Engineers, Local 139. He also worked part time as an assistant Fire Chief for the Town of Raymond, an Arson Investigator for Racine County and as a Police Officer, later Captain, for the Town of Raymond and Norway. He owned and operated Bittersweet Gunsmithing for over 40 years and was a Unit Commissioner for the Boy Scouts of America. In his later years he enjoyed collecting vintage Farmall tractors, and was a long time member of the Pioneer Farm Machinery Club, the Southeast Wisconsin Antique Power and Collectibles Society. He loved flying model helicopters along with growing vegetables and driving his tractors in local tractor shows and parades.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Margaret (Dawson) Osmundsen, survived by sister, Sandra Osmundsen; two sons, David (Debbie Norman) Osmundsen and Mark (Maribeth Molinaro) Osmundsen; three daughters, Laura, Sara (Craig) Wahlstedt and Mary (David Hofmann) Osmundsen; his grandchildren, Melissa (Richard) Klaus; Maria, Mark Jr, Cheyenne, and Dawson Osmundsen; Clay Wahlstedt; Leishaan Crane and Aamon Crane; and Katherine Leach; and his great grandchildren: Collin, Riley and Jace Klaus; and Harper Crane.

Visitation Friday, April 22 at the funeral home from 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM. Funeral service 1:00 PM which will be followed by procession to Oak Grove Cemetery for interment. Dress is casual, to honor Bill wear red in show of International Harvester, Farmall. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent in William’s name to the Town of Raymond, Fire and Rescue.
