Walter Bruno Barnes

Born in Chicago, IL on September 28, 1947 to Obie and Julia (Witek) Barnes.  Died August 26, 2022 at the age of 74.

Walter was a loving, kind, and generous Son, Brother, Uncle, and Godfather, but most of all a good friend to many.  Walter’s whole life was his church. He served as an usher on the chapter and hospitality.  He dedicated hours upon hours each year working the Hunger Book Sale to make money to feed the poor.  He always remembered growing up with little food so it meant so much to him.

Walter is survived by his loving niece Christina McGee and her husband Marty McGee of Racine.  Other nieces include Juliann Cook, Saliann Pacheco, Karen Beider of Milwaukee and one nephew Wayne Cook Jr.

Godfather to Tina Kakastsch Sackmaster, Sue Gillman, brother-in-law to Ron Burazin.  He is further survived by his dear friend Katie Casper, who he thanks for all her love, and other church family and friends.

Preceded in death by his parents, three sisters; Shirley Beider, Sue Burazin, and Pauline Cook, two brothers-in-law Wayne Cook Sr. and Ken Beider, and his loving partner David Casper, who he never forgot.

Walter had a deep devotion to the Blessed Mother.

Visitation Monday, September 12, 2022 at All Saints Cathedral 818 E. Juneau Ave, Milwaukee, WI 53202 from 10:00 AM until time of the Mass of Resurrection at 11:00 AM.  Inurnment Good Hope Cemetery.
