STROMMEN, SUSAN J. nee Lewandowski,

Sue Susie Strommen nee Lewandowski, with her family at her side, passed away Wednesday, October 08, 2008 at 56 years of age after a brief battle with cancer. Sue was an employee of Chartwell for 20 years and worked at Gifford Elementary School. She was an active parent with the Tucker 4-H and a member of Racine Instinctive Bowmen. Sue enjoyed baking, crocheting, and crafts. She took top honors as Outstanding Exhibitor for 2007 at the Racine County Fair.

Sue was preceded in death by her parents, George and Delores Lewandowski. She is survived by her husband Ed Strommen of 38 years. Also survived by sons Eddy Cassandra and Al Jamie Strommen. Proud grandma of Taylor, Chaise, and newborn Ciara. Dear sister of Rick Terrie Lewandowski. Further survived by brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends too numerous to mention. Sue will also be dearly missed by longtime family friend Mary Hintz.

Funeral service Saturday, October 11, 9:15am from the funeral home to ST. LOUIS CHURCH, 13207 Cty Trk G in Caledonia for a 10:00am Mass of Christian Burial. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 10 at the FUNERAL HOME from 4:00 to 8:00pm and Saturday, October 11 after 8:30am. A parish vigil will be held Friday at 7:00pm. Interment to follow at St. Louis Church Cemetery.

The family would like to extend special thanks to Gilbert and Audrey Hagemann and Ralph and Marilyn Lewandowski for their support at her time of need. Also special thanks to Dr. Michael Mullane, family friend and doctor to the Strommen and Lewandowski families.

My Deepest Sympathy to Ed, Eddie,Al and Family over the loss of your Wife, Mother and Grandmother. Sue was a very Special person. She was a 2nd Mom to my Son, Nicholas. I will always appreciate the Special Love and caring that she gave my Son. He is a Better person for knowing Sue and her Family.
The days and months ahead will be difficult without Sue. But you have been blessed with wonderful memories of Her. And remembering all the things that made her Special, is what will keep Sue always alive and close within your hearts.
I know I feel blessed by having known Sue Strommen and will miss her.

Sue was my friend for 33 years…we shared happiness and sadness…we both lost our parents. We were there for each other when our children were born. Now she has gone to heaven…I will miss her more than words can say. Rest in peace my dear friend. I love you…
