Sister Ruth was a wonderful lady who I will always remember. She was concerned for the smallest and most helpless of God’s children – babies. She would save her coupons and shop for baby food and formula to bring to the food pantry at the Bay View Community Center. She encouraged her neighbors to support families in need and encouraged them to bring food and money to the Center to keep the shelves of the pantry stocked. Literally hundreds of babies over the years had a good nutritious start in life because of Sister Ruth and her work. We could always count on her. During exceptionally hard times I would call her and tell her what we needed. Soon after there would be a knock on the door and there would be Sister Ruth with grocery bags. These past two years when she was so frail she would still have one of the Sisters bring her with her donation. Our lives were enriched by her and her care and concern for all of God’s children; her deep devotion to babies inspired us all. We loved all loved her.
