Sr. Rose Fought Injustice. Went to her true home July 19, 2011. Daughter of the late Jacob J. and Laura T. Zander of Cross Plains, WI. Preceded in death by her sisters, Sr. Mildred, Sr. Cecilia, and Sr. Anne. Dear sister of five other sisters, Sr. Doris, SSSF, Sr. Felissa, SSSF, Marion Dommer, Lois Severson, Kathy Statz. Further survived by nieces, nephews, the School Sisters of St. Francis with whom she shared life for 65 years, thousands of troubled boys and families, classroom students, and adult prisoners. She was servant to all she served at St. Peter’s, Skokie, IL, St. Clare College and St. Francis School, Costa Rica, San Jose Central Penitentiary, Costa Rica, Penal Colony on the Island of San Lucas, Instituto Immaculada Concepcion in Comayaguela, Honduras, Central Penitentiary of Tegucigalpa, Honduras, Centro de Orientacion Juvenil Jalteva/Complejo Pedagogico Jalteva, Honduras, St. Francis Xavier School, Cross Plains, WI, and St. Joseph Convent Center. Bachelor of Science Degree in Education at Alverno College.
