Reinelt, Shirley

(nee Wollert) Born at home in Milwaukee on October 11, 1921 and passed away on Monday April 5th, 2021 at the age of 99 years. She had two sisters younger than her. Shirley’s dad worked with a horse and wagon collecting garbage and ashes, her mom was a housewife. As a child, she loved Christmas especially the fresh Christmas tree. Shirley graduated from Pulaski High School in 1940. After graduation, she worked at Allis Chalmers as a recordkeeper and then at Park Commission for 15 years as a secretary. Shirley married Harold Reinelt in 1953; he was a Milwaukee Police Officer. They were married for 55 years until his death in 2009. They had no children. Shirley has fond adult memories of going to Vegas with her husband, also travels to Florida, California, Mexico, New York, Washington DC and Hawaii. Shirley enjoyed reading novels, newspapers, and quiet time.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 13 at JACKSON PARK LUTHERAN CHURCH, 4535 W. Oklahoma Ave. from 11am-12pm with a Funeral Service at 12pm. Interment Good Hope Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, memorials to Jackson Park Lutheran Church or St. Joseph’s Indian School, P.O. Box 326 Chamberlain, SD 567326 appreciated.
