He was a homebody who enjoyed watching movies with loved ones, especially documentaries. His favorite bands included The Smashing Pumpkins and Blink 182. He was gifted in mathematics and information technology. He was a proud dad to his rescue cat, Skipper and lifelong animal lover. Above all he adored spending time with his nephews Greyson and Bodhi. He always recognized the importance of family and never missed an opportunity to say “I love you.”

He is survived by his parents, Beckie and Thomas Pencak; grandparents Marlys and Carroll Beguhn; his girlfriend, Chelsea Ostrov; nephews Greyson and Bodhi Wilson; and his siblings, Rheanna Rasico (Andy Rasico), Tiffany Wilson (Steve Wilson), and Nicholas Pencak (Luis Valenzuela).

Shannon battled great personal adversity throughout his life and despite the odds, overcame so much in his final years. His family is forever proud and takes solace that he is now at peace.

A private memorial service will be held on June 29th at Heritage Funeral Home in Oak Creek. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the following causes that were dear to his heart: Safe Harbor Humane Society of Kenosha and NAMI of Greater Milwaukee.

This might be unknown to his family but Shannon had a big presence in a large online community for years and had TONS of friends who have been wondering where he’s been. We only became aware of his passing yesterday and he is greatly missed. Shannon was better known to us as Spaceman (space) and through group voice and video calls, he never failed to make us laugh. Always the entertainer, he loved to talk and bring people together despite the distances between all of us. Whether you were a new face or known for years, he was inclusive, nonjudgemental and forgiving to others. He always made people feel welcome and acknowledged within the community.

As great of a conversationalist as he was, he was an even better listener and one would be in good company if Space was there to listen to you. He had a way about him that got people to open up and having been through a lot of his own personal struggles, he listened with an open heart and without judgement. He will be remembered by many as somebody you could always talk to.

I feel a gap in the community now but “the space between us” becomes smaller as more and more people share their memories and stories of Space. He always strived to bring people together and I have no doubt that he is at peace watching others grow closer to one another through our shared connection to him.

It was a pleasure to be in your company Space. Thank you for always being a friend to me…

There is indeed a community that has made lots of good memories with Shannon. He has a way to make people laugh and feel comfortable talking to him. Although this big group of people have not met him in person, there were strong connections made. Upon hearing his passing to a peaceful place we were shocked. We reminisced on our valuable times talking with him . We truly miss Shannon but his memories will live on.

Shannon/Space was one of the kindest people i’ve met online, was always there for his friends and loved us all unconditionally.
He helped me personally through some rough times and for that I will always be grateful.
He brought a lot of laughter and light with him wherever he went and was always able to put a smile on our faces.

We are all so lucky to have been a part of his epic story and he will always be in our thoughts.
    Rest easy my friend.

It is now May 4,2021 and I just found out about Shannon’s passing. Shannon was one of the kindest people I have ever met. No matter what he had on his plate, he would give his last bite in order to help another. He was blessed with the BEST family and my heart aches for them. I want to get a hold of his parents to talk to them. Shannon, you have always and will always hold a special place in my heart & many others.
