Age 78 of Portage, WI formerly of Muskego passed away Thursday, December 10, 2009. Roland was born April 27, 1931 in Milwaukee, WI to Bruno and Cecilia Nee Schmelter Radish. Beloved husband of Janet nee Suess. Devoted father of Matthew Judith, Thomas Kathryn, James Maureen and Andrew Michelle. Proud grandfather of Jacob, Aaron, Lauren, Natalie, Adam, Samantha, Alexander, Abigail, Joseph, Nicholas, Maria and Benjamin. Preceded in death by brothers Robert Juanita and Ronald, sister Barbara Thessin and granddaughter Monica. Survived by his brother Richard Patricia and sister Joan Kenneth Bukowski, sisters in law Joan Radish and Julie James Staat and brother in law Ronald Thessin. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Roland proudly served as a US Marine during the Korean War. He was a metal patternmaker for 45 years, served as president of the St. Leonard’s Holy Name Society, was a member of the Knights of Columbus and St. Joseph’s Benevolent Society. He enjoyed singing with the Milwaukee Festival City Chorus and was a former member of the TOPS, Milwaukee.

Visitation Monday, at the FUNERAL HOME from 4-7PM with a Rosary at 7PM. A Requiem Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday 10AM at ST. STANISLAUS CHURCH, 524 W. Mitchell St. Milwaukee. Interment Wednesday 11AM Southern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Union Grove. In lieu of flowers memorials to the American Diabetes Association is appreciated.
