To the Roepke family, We were glad to learn how beautiful and fruitful dear Rick’s life turned out! My husband Dennis Prebezich was a boyhood friend and they were confirmed together at St. Paul’s Church. I ( Jeanne Spaeth Prebezich) lived across the street from the Roepke family on 81st Street. We have many wonderful memories and were so happy to hear the end of the story AND to know that we will see each other again in heaven! Blessings to you all, Jeanne and Dennis

I’ve known Rick and Cheryl long before Rick and Cheryl knew each other. They met at my farm in Raymond in 1991. Rick was staying with us at the time and Cheryl dropped little Nikki off, who was about three months old, daily for us to babysit.

Rick asked me if he could borrow my car to take Cheryl on a first date. I forgot to tell him the gas gauge didn’t work.

I was really hoping things would work out with Rick and Cheryl, because up to that point, Rick was living on Coke-a-Cola and Chocolate covered peanuts.

It sure was a shock to hear that Rick had passed on.
