Has taken his Eternal Call on Friday November 3, 2023 age 87 years. Beloved husband of Beverly “Bev” (nee Radtke). Dear dad of Linda (John) Evans, Connie Meyer, Timothy (Nancy) Meyer, Mark (Heidi) Meyer, Kerri (Randy) Bush and Melanie (Robert) Proeber. Loving grandpa of Matt (Mikaela), Laurel, Rachel, Amanda (Jesse), Sarah, Cody, Christy (Matthew), Caitlin (Cody), Triah (Andrew), Cathy (Eric), Nicholas (Melissa), Emily, Benjamin, Bobby (Rose), Alex (Kelsey), and Joel (Kara). Great-grandpa of Tallulah, Josie, Koen, Wilder, Luella, Wesley, Rasmus, Leslie, Ella, Isaiah, Clara, Reyna, Piper, Abraham, Tyler, Chrystal, and Jaxson. Brother of Wilmer (Rose), the late Kenny (the late Sharon), Dennis, and the late Richard (Nora) Meyer. Brother-in-law of Jon (Jean) Radtke. Further survived by nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, November 10, 2023 at TRINITY EV. LUTHERAN CHURCH 7900 Nicholson Road in Caledonia, WI from 4:00pm until the time of service at 6:00pm.

Pastor Meyer served in the public ministry for 55 years serving in Park City and Columbus, Montana as well as Fond Du Lac, Oak Creek, and Muskego, Wisconsin.

In June 1960 Gerald Meyer graduated from Concordia Seminary in Springfield, Illinois. Upon graduation he was ordained and installed on July 10,1960 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, a dual parish in Columbus and Park City, Montana.

In November 1965 he left Missouri Synod for doctrinal reasons and entered Wisconsin synod through the colloquy program.  In December he was installed as pastor at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin.  While at Redeemer he served as Chairman of the Board for Winnebago Lutheran Academy.  During those years he also taught various classes at WLA.

In 1975 Pastor Meyer accepted a Call to St. John’s Lutheran Church, Oak Creek (Oakwood Road). While at St. John’s he was on the Board of Shoreland Lutheran High School. He was Chairman of the board and also taught several classes there.

During his twenty-four years at St. John’s he served the Southeastern Wisconsin District on the Evangelism committee and was also on Synod’s Evangelism Commission. He was also responsible for the operation of the Evangelism Bookshop. For eighteen years he worked with Wisconsin Institutional Ministries as a part-time chaplain at Mount Carmel Nursing Home.

In 2000 Pastor Meyer accepted a part-time retirement Call to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Muskego, Wisconsin, where he served the homebound until 2014.

Throughout his ministry, Pastor Meyer baptized 2 of his own children, many of his grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Pastor Meyer confirmed all of his children, and participated in 15 family weddings.

    So sorry for the loss of your loved one. Mark was my St Matthew’s algebra teacher and became my uncle married to Heidi. Pastor Meyer was great. My condolences go out to your entire family.

    My. Sympathy to Bev and your children who were young when you served at Redeemer Fond du Lac..WI..Pastor baptized my son s..in 1966.1969 & 1971.Also welcomed me as a , now longtime member of Redeemer since then!! My prayers are with you and your family ‼️ Jan Levenhagen
