Fischer, Raymond Otto was born December 23, 1927 in Sheboygan, WI. First generation German immigrant, both his parents (Felix & Martha (nee Wolfe) Fischer were born in Kemnitz, Germany. His parents immigrated to the US in the late 1920’s. During the US depression his family moved back to Kemnitz, where his formative years were spent. They returned to the US in the late 1930’s prior to the rise of Hitler. Beloved husband of Aldona B. (nee Opitz). Loving father of Sherris Fischer (Matthew) Corby, Dennis Raymond Fischer, Raymond Felix (Laura) Fischer, II. Dear Grandfather of Jennifer Hulbert, David Fischer, Megan Josephine (Tate) Corby, Allison (Ellerton) Corby, Bryan Fischer, Daniel Fischer. Great-Grandfather of Danica Hulbert and Nora Walters. Also survived by other relatives and friends. An entrepreneur, at the age of 25 he founded his own business which he successfully ran for 63 years. Most of his business dealings were conducted with a handshake and a game of bar dice. Known among his friends as “The Oracle” he had an answer for every question. He was a loving and committed family man and he was never without a cigar and glass of scotch and seltzer.
A public memorial celebration will be held Friday September 16, 2016 at the Heritage Funeral Home (9200 S. 27th St. Oak Creek, WI 53154) from 4-8PM. A Private Entombment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, (due to family allergies, no flowers or plants will be accepted), please send memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society. cancer.org/donate
