Raymond James Sullivan, age 94, of Wauwatosa passed away on the 7 March 2017 at Rainbow Hospice Care in Johnson Creek. Ray was born in Fond du Lac on June 22, 1922 to Arthur and Margaret (Roble) Sullivan.
Ray served in the Marine Corps during WWII, graduated from Marquette University in 1947 and worked as a mechanical engineer for General Electric Co. for 37 years. Ray married Elaine Priscilla Lulloff on June 5, 1948 and they raised their five children together until Elaine’s death on May 30, 1984. Ray married Gladys “Peggy” Caroline Sivertsen on July 4, 1992 and they enjoyed traveling, dancing, and spending time with family and friends. Both were active in their respective churches. Ray will be remembered as intelligent, thoughtful, patient and loving.
Ray is survived by his wife Peggy; sons, Mark Sullivan of Wake Forest, NC, David Sullivan of Madison; daughters Susan Sullivan (Arthur) Borkin of Venice, FL, Ellen Sullivan (Kevin Zyvoloski) of Raleigh, NC; four grandchildren and five great grandchildren; sister, Gen Sullivan; brothers, Dave (Pat) Sullivan, Jack (Judy) Sullivan, and Frank Sullivan; sister-in-law, Mary (Koss) Sullivan; and many nieces and nephews.
Ray is preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Elaine; son, Peter, who died on June 16, 2000; four sisters, Marge Thurman, Dorothy Prochnow, Helen Shank and Catherine Kocs; brother, Tom Sullivan; sisters-in-law, Katie Sullivan and Mary (Lamb) Sullivan; and brothers-in-law, Gene Kocs, Gordon “Butch” Prochnow, Jack Thurman and Jerry Shank; a niece and nephew.
A Celebration of Life service for family and friends will be held 18 June 2017 at 2PM at Immanuel Presbyterian Church, 1100 N. Astor Street, Milwaukee, WI 53202.
