Myslim Himollari

With tremendous grief and mourning hearts, we announce the passing of Myslim Himollari. He gracefully entered eternal life at home in the morning hours of Tuesday, January 27, 2026, with his devoted wife and dedicated children by his side.

Myslim was born on the 28th of April, in the mountainous landscape of Korçë, Albania to Jashar and Hasimeko Himollari, in 1941. The youngest child of six, and a precocious one, he excelled in the wake of his brothers Myfit, Hodo, and Bardhyl and his sisters Shyqyrie and Pashako. Until an elementary school was built around 1951, he educated himself from his brothers’ books.  Myslim was required to serve the military of Albania; he gained the rank of sergeant and enjoyed his duties. During his military service, he attended the Polytechnic School of  Tirana and finished as an electrician.

A discerning man, he waited patiently to choose the perfect wife, Shkëndije (Nika) Selimollari, and asked her parents for her hand; impressed by Myslim, they agreed happily. Needing to improve living conditions in order to start a family, Myslim applied for a transfer from his job training soldiers and was granted a position as an agent of the Albanian Government and was tasked to secure the capital building of Tirana.

A quiet critic of communism and the communist regime, Myslim avoided joining the Communist Party of Albania by always stating to his superiors, “I do not believe I am good enough. Maybe next year.”

Myslim and Nika were blessed with a beautiful pair of children, Ervin Himollari and Suela Jeske (Himollari). When the communist regime crumbled in the 1990s, Myslim reveled in the capitalistic ideal and began a business buying, then selling, trinkets in an open-air market. Sparked by his father’s enthusiasm, Ervin moved to the United States and, soon, the family followed.

Myslim and Ervin worked for many years together building masterful works of art, setting tile in hundreds of homes in Southeastern Wisconsin. He busily created beauty throughout his life; his carefully cultivated ornamental and vegetable gardens, his handiworks of carvings and home modifications, his disciplined organization and, most importantly, the beautiful love he showed and shared with his family are lasting mementos of his wonderful presence in their lives. He showered his grandchildren Jon, Frankie, Vinson, and Zephyrin with love, calling each of them “Zemra e gjyshit,” the heart of Grandpa.

His daughter-in-law and son-in-law, Tatjana Himollari (Sejdaras) and Eric Jeske, were cherished by Myslim and shown the greatest love by him; they could not have had a better father-in-law.

The visitation for Myslim will be held at St. John the Evangelist Parish, 8500 West Cold Spring Road, Greenfield, WI 53228 from 10:00-11:00 AM on Saturday, February 7, 2026. A Funeral Mass will follow the visitation at 11:00 AM. Myslim will be interred at 1:00 PM at Highland Memorial Park, 14875 West Greenfield Avenue, New Berlin, WI 53151.
